PUMA provides a user with comprehensive MIDS LVT performance monitoring functions including ongoing status data displays and presentation of responses to user invoked status data requests. The main display is designed such that principal and potentially regularly monitored status data are permanently provided at this user interface level (either side of the main display and the bar at the bottom of the display), i.e. they are not required to be frequently and specifically selected from a menu (as shown in the screenshot below).

Status data monitoring provided by PUMA includes but is not limited to the following principal functions:
- Ethernet IP/Port connection.
- Ongoing status data (12 second messages/Chronometer & network times).
- Load commands.
- Net Entry.
- Qualities (Time/Position/Relative).
- Functionary role/Type selection (NTR/PR/LTTI/Organisational User).
- IPF Mode selection.
- Crypto/SDU Alarm.
- Status Data Words requests.
- Core Memory inspection.
- BIT.
- Power Modes (Low/Medium/Normal/High).
- Navigation performance.
- Event counters.
